THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	As the start was effected, Apprentice S Hlengwa (STORMY WINTER) briefly lost the footing to his left-side stirrup iron. Shortly thereafter, STORMY WINTER (*S Hlengwa)  and CITY BY THE SEA (C Maujean) came together and brushed. 
b)	BLOOMINGTON (D De Gouveia), from a wide draw, was encouraged forward and around runners to obtain a handy position in advance of runners.
c)	Jockey	M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with DOUBLE MAGIC in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
d)	Jockey	K de Melo reported that BLUE WATERS did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 	
e)	Jockey	G Pieterse reported that THAMBI made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
