Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LUNA ECLIPSE (*R Venniker) was stubborn to load. b) GINGERSPATHTOGLORY (*S Hlengwa) was restless in the stalls. c) ANCIENT EPIC (M Ntuli) was restless in the stalls, removed examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. d) IMBEJEJE (S Khumalo) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) As the start was effected, STING RAY (K Sakayi) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of GINGERSPATHTOGLORY (*S Hlengwa) which jumped out. b) In the concluding stages, STING RAY (K Sakayi) which was hanging in from the 300m, had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of HER ROYAL MAJESTY (A Arries) which shifted out away from the crop between the 200m and the 100m. c) In view of the performance of ANCIENT EPIC (M Ntuli) (7.90 lengths, 3/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer Gareth van Zyl will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. d) STING RAY (K Sakayi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting on behalf of Trainer G S Kotzen advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ANCIENT EPIC was ridden by Jockey M Ntuli (advised 24.01.22/9h00). b) GINGERSPATHTOGLORY raced with a compression mask. c) LUNA ECLIPSE raced with a compression mask.
