THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ONE WAY TRAFFIC (G van Niekerk) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1800m, QUASIFORSURE (T Godden) was carried out marginally by WINCHESTER MANSION (K Matsunyane) which rolled out. b) ARAGOSTA (C Zackey) was hanging in from the 300m. c) In the concluding stages WINCHESTER MANSION (K Matsunyane) which was hanging in from the 400m was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of PACAYA (R Fourie) . d) Jockey T Godden reported that QUASIFORSURE made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) PACAYA (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J S Snaith advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) WINCHESTER MANSION raced without cheek pieces (advised 11.05.23/12h47). b) Jockey R Fourie (PACAYA) weighed out at 54.5kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. c) Jockey K de Melo (INDLAMU) weighed out at 53.4kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
