THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CORNER CRUSADE (C F Dicken) was stubborn to load. b) FRENCH PRINCESS (*M K Katjedi) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SWISS PARADISE (K de Melo) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with SWISS PARADISE in the running and did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) At the 350m, FRENCH PRINCESS (*M K Katjedi) was steadied when awkwardly placed between SWISS PARADISE (K de Melo), which had come to the end of its run, and IMBEWU (*R A Venniker) which had rolled in. c) Leaving the 100m, CORNER CRUSADE (C F Dicken) was carried in marginally by HUGSANDHIGHFIVES (A Mgudlwa) which was switched in off the heels of BRIGHT STAR (D Schwarz) to obtain a clear run. d) BRIGHT STAR (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer N Kotzen advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) TOP HONOURS raced equipped with ear muffs and without blinkers (advised 15.05.23/07h33). b) Jockey D Schwarz was the rider of BRIGHT STAR (advised 15.05.23/10h03). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SWISS PARADISE : Not striding out left front. b) CORNER CRUSADE : Abnormal respiratory noise. c) FORTUNE BAY : Fatigued.
