THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PREVALENCE (JP van der Merwe) and MUCHO DINERO (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow to begin MUCHO DINERO trailed the field in the early stages despite the efforts of Jockey R Fourie and only responded to his urgings in the latter stages. b) HASTA MANANA (M Winnaar) was unable to secure clear running between the 200m and the finish. c) For a short distance approaching the 100m SOLAR POWER (L Mxothwa) raced in restricted galloping room on the inside of BEERENBERG (C Orffer). d) In view of the performance of INNAMORARE (S Veale), which was hanging out in the straight and was not persevered with in the straight, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) SCALINI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
