THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHICAGO LASS (+S Myendeki) jumped very awkwardly leaving the stalls losing three lengths. Trainer P F Matchett was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) SPRING OF ELIXIR (+S Mkhumbuzi) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As a result of being restless and jumping awkwardly, CHICAGO LASS (+S Myendeki) lost momentum and gave ground to the field. b) LIEFDESONDEREINDE (+T Lukhele) commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. c) In view of the performance of SPRING OF ELIXIR (+S Mkhumbuzi), (distance 12,00 lengths, betting 33/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the performance of CHICAGO LASS (+S Myendeki), (distance 15,00 lengths, betting 4/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) A PLACE IN THE SUN (+C Mabaya), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
