THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	STAGE PLAY (S Khathi) jumped awkwardly.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	During the canter past MERESANKH dislodged Jockey L Nhlapo, cantered back to the parade ring, was taken in hand, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and proceeded to the start. Thereafter MERESANKH (L Nhlapo) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler, causing a delay. MERESANKH (L Nhlapo) is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 and until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start with a companion on a race day.
b)	ELUSIVE MATA (L Mxothwa) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended.
c)	Jockey F Herholdt reported that BURNT SUGAR felt uncomfortable in its action, gave ground quickly to the field from the 600m and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	JAMBO SANA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (HK)
