THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	LOOK BACK (M Winnaar) and ETOILEFILLANTE (K Matsunyane) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, CHILI PALMER cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	WILLIAM WEST (R Fourie), which was hanging out, shifted out leaving the 350m and brushed CAFE CULTURE (L Mxothwa). Thereafter, WILLIAM WEST (R Fourie) continued to hang out and had to be steadied briefly when close to the heels of CAFE CULTURE (L Mxothwa) at the 200m.
c)	'O CAPTAIN (A Arries) raced very green and shifted both ways away from the crop on a number of occasions between the 400m and the finish.
d)	CAFE CULTURE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised. (TJ)
