THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (D de Gouveia) jumped slow, losing two lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Due to a disturbance in the vicinity of the parade ring, the Stewards instructed the riders to mount up in the saddling area and proceed directly to the start.	
b)	ON BOARD (C Orffer), which was hanging out from the 250m, shifted out and then was directed to the outside of LADY RENEE (A Arries) leaving the 200m. Thereafter, ON BOARD (C Orffer) continued to hang out and had to be straightened at the 100m.
c)	APPLE CATCHER (R Fourie) and AMETHYSTIC (C Zackey) brushed at the 100m.
d)	Jockey A Arries was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking LADY RENEE more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt and was fined R6000,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account his record and the number of strikes (13). 
e)	Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL, resulting in a change of rider. Jockey A Domeyer signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00.
f)	APPLE CATCHER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PP Kruyer was advised. (SC)
