Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHAT NOW MY GAL (B Jacobson) dropped its head on a number of occasions in the stalls. Thereafter, as the start was effected, this filly dropped its head once again and as a result was slow away losing 3 lengths. Trainer M Rix was advised to re-school this filly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A race review, pertaining to WHAT NOW MY GAL (B Jacobson) drawn in stall gate (6), was called into the start of this race. In this regard, it was established that, WHAT NOW MY GAL dropped its head as the start was effected. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that WHAT NOW MY GAL was not impeded by a handler and any distance lost by this filly was as a result of its own behaviour therefore, no further action was taken and WHAT NOW MY GAL was deemed to be a runner. b) KOMESANS PASSION (M Yeni) was hanging out around the turn. c) Apprentice K J Lihaba (KEENONKELLY) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) JADE'S CABERNEIGH (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) KOMESANS PASSION raced without blinkers (advised 24.05.23/07h28). b) Jockey S Khumalo was the rider of JADE'S CABERNEIGH (advised 24.05.23/09h08).
