THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLAZING ASTUTE (A Arries), PETIT VERDOT (S Moodley) and IDEAL GIFT (S Khumalo) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MISS LIALAH (*S Hlengwa) over-raced in the early stages. b) PETIT VERDOT (S Moodley) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) At approximately the 50m, MISS LIALAH (*S Hlengwa) which was hanging in from the 300m, had to be steadied to avoid running onto the heels of MALCOLM'S DREAM (K Matsunyane) which rolled out. d) In the concluding stages, INGAKARA (N Patel) was carried out marginally by SATURN MOON (*R A Venniker) which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. e) In view of the performance of IDEAL GIFT (S Khumalo) (6.15 lengths, 6/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) PETIT VERDOT (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey K de Melo (GELSOMINA) weighed out at 55.5kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
