THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GET CARTER (N Patel) was restless in the stalls. b) BLIZZARD AHEAD (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. Trainer M Miller will be advised to re-school this gelding. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Jockey S Brown reported that the bit on FOREST PHOENIX had pulled through its mouth in the running which rendered him unable to assist this gelding around the turn and resulted in FOREST PHOENIX racing wide throughout. b) At the 300m, CAPTAIN NITS (C Habib) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of BOLD PREMIER (M Yeni) which switched out to continue its run. c) Jockey L Mohapi reported that FLYMEFREE did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) GET CARTER (N Patel), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M J Odendaal advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ALMA MATER was ridden by Jockey K de Melo (advised 26.01.22/7h31). b) CAPTAIN NITS was ridden by Jockey C Habib and this gelding raced equipped with blinkers (advised 26.01.22/7h11). c) BOLD PREMIER raced with cheek pieces and without blinkers (advised 26.01.22/10h56). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) GREY VIEW : Cut into right hind. b) FLYMEFREE : Lame right front tendon. Vet certificate required prior to re-entry.
