THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PROUD MASTER (S Veale) was stubborn to load. b) FATEFUL DAY (A Mgudlwa) and PROUD MASTER (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MASTER OF DESTINY (S Moodley) jumped awkwardly leaving the starting stalls. b) At approximately the 300m, DIANI (S Khumalo) was steadied in anticipation of a narrow run closing between BEECHAMWOOD BOY (*R A Venniker) and FATEFUL DAY (A Mgudlwa). c) In view of the performances of PASSAGE OF POWER (J Gates) (6.10 lengths, 40/1 in the betting) and MAXIUMUS (K de Melo) (5.50 lengths, 8/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) PROUD MASTER (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
