THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOD OF CHAOS (C Habib) was stubborn loading. Thereafter, this gelding was unruly, reared over into the adjacent stall, was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and subsequently scratched. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer A G Laird was advised (GT). b) During the process of extricating GOD OF CHAOS (C Habib) from the stalls, KNOCKEMSTIFF (M Yeni), who was drawn alongside this gelding, broke through the front gates and bolted the course. c) CAPTAIN WARA (P Strydom) reared in the stalls, broke through the front gates and bolted the course. Trainer C Spies was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). d) CHARGE AHEAD (Wes Marwing), STORM AHEAD (J P van der Merwe) and RUGGER LOVER (*D B Geerthsen) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice M K Katjedi, the rider of JUST NUISANCE, accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. b) GEORGE HANDEL (G Lerena) shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to GOD OF CHAOS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 26 May 2023 to 1 June 2023. GOD OF CHAOS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A G Laird was advised. d) MOUNT PILATUS (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
