THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	As the start was effected, POWER RANGER (J R Syster) was brushed in by GREEN SCEPTRE (*D B Geerthsen), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b)	BEGUILING (K Matsunyane) was struck by a bird at the 800m.
c)	At approximately the 200m, GREEN SCEPTRE (*D B Geerthsen) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between CAPTAIN OF GRIT (G Lerena), which was directed outwards to obtain a clear run, and BEGUILING (K Matsunyane), which shifted in away from the crop.
d)	CAPTAIN OF GRIT (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
