THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GET IT DONE (L Mxothwa) was stubborn loading. b) LET'S CRUISE (S Khumalo) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. c) SALIENT POINT (JP van der Merwe), OPERA SWING (K Steyn), BEE IN MY BONNET (F Herholdt) and VENUS DE MILO (D Ashby) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MEREDITH GREY (JR Syster) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. b) Approaching the 100m SILVERY BLUE (R Danielson), which rolled in marginally, was brushed by GET IT DONE (L Mxothwa), which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey L Mxothwa (GET IT DONE) appeared before the Board and was advised that he needs to react sooner when his mounts require straightening. c) BEE IN MY BONNET (F Herholdt) was hanging in in the latter stages. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that SALIENT POINT took no interest in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey K Minnie reported that he felt something amiss with TEARDROP. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) In view of the performance of ANGELSEA (R Fourie) (Betting 2/1 ; Distance 8.25 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) Jockey R Fourie was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on ANGELSEA. Jockey R Fourie signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00. h) GET IT DONE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
