THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOUND CHECK (D Ashby) was fractious and rushed the front gates in the starting stalls, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) FRANCA (S Khathi) was stubborn loading, jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls and made contact with HUNTING TRIP (JP van der Merwe). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FRANCA (S Khathi) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. b) In the concluding stages BODY ELECTRIC (R Danielson) was directed outwards and into clear running. c) PHEDRA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
