THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DELICASEA (R Fourie) stood awkwardly in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. b) FOREST SPY (JP van der Merwe) and PARIS RIX (*P Mxoli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GIACOMO PUCCINI (R Danielson) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. b) In view of the performance of SPYDAS CORNER (L Mxothwa) (Betting 5/1 ; 9.80 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) LEDELL'S ECHO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
