Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	A fair start.
 
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	At the 300m, EAST COAST (K de Melo) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between COUSIN CASEY (G van Niekerk) and STREET ART (C Habib) which rolled in.
b)	At approximately the 200m, COUSIN CASEY (G van Niekerk) was bumped in by WITHOUT QUESTION (R Fourie) which shifted in, when it received some pressure from SEE IT AGAIN (P Strydom) which hung in from the 300m. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident, however after reviewing the patrol film he was of the opinion that the result of the race had not been affected and therefore took no further action.
c)	Following the running of Race 7 Jockey G van Niekerk reported an incident that in his opinion involved inappropriate conduct and language which was directed at him by a person in the parade ring. On investigation it was established that the person concerned was Stable Employee M Pandaram. Mr Pandaram was cautioned and advised that he is expected to conduct himself in a manner which is not in contravention of any Rules when on race course property. He was told that a repeat of this conduct will result in an Inquiry being opened. In assessing this incident the Stewards considered that Jockey van Niekerk did not wish to provide a formal statement regarding the matter. Mr Pandaram confirmed that an incident had indeed occurred.
d)	SEE IT AGAIN (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts advised (DZ).
e)	STREET ART (C Habib), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (NS).
f)	RIVER ROMEO (S Moodley), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (JN).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	Jockey C Habib was the rider of STREET ART (advised 27.05.23/08h42).
b)	ANFIELDS ROCKET raced without blinkers (advised 27.05.23/08h17).
