THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VICTOR RAIL (K de Melo) was stubborn to load. Trainer A Wright was advised to re-school this gelding (SN). b) SHOT OF COURAGE (*K J Lihaba) lost 1 length. c) RARE FLAG (D Daniels) stumbled shortly after leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 800m, SHOT OF COURAGE (*K J Lihaba) briefly raced in restricted room on the inside of VICTOR RAIL (K de Melo). b) Trainer F Bronkhorst appeared before the Board with regard to the improved performance of INVENTRIX (C Habib) compared to this filly's previous race. He explained that in his opinion, after having returned from a near six-month break, INVENTRIX (C Habib) needed her previous race and that her fitness had improved as a result. His explanation was noted and this filly's future performances will be monitored. c) Apprentice K J Lihaba (SHOT OF COURAGE) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. d) INVENTRIX (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) COTTON RON raced without a tongue tie (advised 31.05.23/07h39). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
