Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PIXIE IN LOVE (*R A Venniker) was stubborn to load. Trainer P M Gadsby was advised to re-school this filly (SL). b) TOMMY THE KID (*S Hlengwa) and LA DREAMER (J Gates) were slow into stride. c) MANZ KNIGHT (L Mxothwa) lost 1 length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TRITON (S Moodley) stumbled badly leaving the starting stalls resulting in Jockey S Moodley becoming unbalanced. b) KASHKAVAL (R Khathi) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) At approximately the 200m DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni) which was hanging out and TRITON (S Moodley) which was hanging in, came together and brushed on two occasions. Thereafter in the concluding stages TRITON (S Moodley) was carried out marginally by DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni) which continued to hang out. During this incident RED PIANO (R Fourie) was momentarily inconvenienced between KASHKAVAL (R Khathi) which rolled inwards and DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni) and KASHKAVAL (R Khathi). A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident. After viewing the patrol video from various angles, no further action was taken. d) KASHKAVAL (R Khathi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Y Govender advised (NS). e) DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Robinson advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) DUKE OF AFRICA raced with a tongue tie (advised 03.06.23/07h20). b) BOOK OF DREAMS raced with a tongue tie (advised 02.06.23/09h08).
