THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	SAKA GOLD (S Khumalo) and KLITSGRAS (C Maujean) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	SCAMPTON (R Danielson) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c)	BULLET BARNES (*M K Katjedi) and POLICY OF TRUTH (M Yeni) were slow losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	As the start was effected, DREAMLAND (K de Melo) was brushed out by SCAMPTON (R Danielson), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	Shortly after the start, KNOCKEMSTIFF (M van Rensburg), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, was steadied and directed outwards off the heels of KLITSGRAS (C Maujean).
c)	RAVEN BLACK (K Matsunyane) jumped a patch at the 600m and thereafter hung in from the 200m. 
d)	Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with SAKA GOLD in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
e)	In view of the performance of AND ACTION (G Lerena), (distance 11,75 lengths, betting 33/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.	
f)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SAKA GOLD, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer B Botes was advised.	
g)	RAVEN BLACK (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Crawford was advised (MduP).

RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a)	DREAMLAND raced equipped with blinkers (declared 5 June 2023 at 06H46).		
b)	RAVEN BLACK is a gelding (gelded 21 February 2023)
Trainer B Crawford was charged with a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the local office of the National Horseracing Authority within two (2) business days that RAVEN BLACK had been gelded. Stable Employee J Crawford signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R500 was imposed. 

THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a)	SAKA GOLD bilateral epistaxis, recommended 60 day suspension. Trainer B Botes was advised (MB).
b)	AND ACTION examined post race, nothing obvious detected.	
c)	POLICY OF TRUTH abnormal respiratory noise.
