THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUPER AGRA (M Yeni) was stubborn loading. Trainer C J Lensley was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) MAY QUEEN (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TROMPIE (K Matsunyane) took an awkward stride on the finish line. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with VEGAS HI RISE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer F P Habib was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of gelding on return to stables. c) Jockey C Habib reported that CONSTABLE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) TROMPIE (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee J Crawford was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MIDNIGHT GEM raced with a pressure halter (declared 5 June 2023 at 09H16).
