THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAFE SPACE (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. Trainer G S Kotzen was advised to re-school this gelding (SN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) MORNING CHESS (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 500m, TRITON (D Schwarz) was carried out by JURY'S OUT (C Habib) which rolled out. Thereafter, leaving the 400m TRITON (D Schwarz) had to switch to the inside of JURY'S OUT (C Habib) to obtain a clear run. c) At approximately the 300m VENERABLE (D Daniels) had to steady when awkwardly placed between SAFE SPACE (S Moodley) and MORNING CHESS (S Khumalo) which was hanging out. d) MADISON BLUES (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) MORNING CHESS raced equipped with blinkers (advised 05.06.23/08h38). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
