THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DIESEL AND DUST (*P Mxoli) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (GT). b) SISTER LIGHT (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) PROPHET (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. d) ARGO ALLEY (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. e) OCEAN WARRIOR (D De Gouveia) and DUKE OF SUSSEX (C Zackey) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to DIESEL AND DUST, as well as taking this gelding's history with regards to tractability in the stalls into account, his starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on three (3) consecutive race days. Trainer P F Matchett was advised. b) In view of the performance of ARGO ALLEY (S Khumalo), (distance 4,00 lengths, betting 8/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) DUKE OF SUSSEX (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
