THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUIRK OF FATE (M Thackeray), ANAM CARA (L Mxothwa) and WINNING GRACE (M Yeni) were stubborn loading. b) MAUNA LOA (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. c) BUTTERFLY QUEEN (J Gates) and FIRE GLOW (JP van der Merwe) were nervous in the stalls. d) TIBETAN TEMPTRESS (R Fourie) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls; thereafter, jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, WINNING GRACE (M Yeni) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay. b) MAGIC MEASURE (T Gould) and SI GIOCA (K Minnie) raced green. c) In view of the performance of TIBETAN TEMPTRESS (R Fourie) (Betting 14/10 ; Distance 19.50 lengths), which raced green and was hanging in throughout, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) ERROLS LEGACY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
