THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	TIGER IN RED (W Marwing) was restless in the stalls.
b)	ATTABOY (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	PLAZA ACCORD (R Fourie) and VINO DOLCE (C Maujean) raced green on the bend.
b)	Shortly after the finish, Jockey G Lerena, the rider of RAINBOW REWARD was dislodged when this gelding ducked in abruptly away from a shadow cast by the grandstand. EL DRAQUE (A Arries) and SEATTLE RIPPER (K de Melo) which were positioned to the outside of RAINBOW REWARD (G Lerena) were unbalanced when steadied in anticipation of the loose horse shifting outwards and the rider of ATTABOY (*S Hlengwa) was unbalanced when this colt ducked in itself, away from the same shadow cast by the grandstand and was awkwardly placed behind EL DRAQUE (A Arries) and SEATTLE RIPPER (K de Melo). The Stewards ruled that the winner RAINBOW REWARD had carried the correct weight and used the provisions of Rule 66.2 in relation to Jockey Lerena being incapacitated from weighing in.
c)	RAINBOW REWARD (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing acting on behalf of Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (HM).
