Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RULERSHIP (T Godden) jumped awkwardly. Lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ACACIA'S BLOSSOM (K de Melo) was squeezed out at the start when MAGIC TATTOO (C Habib) was carried out by CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL (R Fourie) which jumped outwards. b) CAPTAIN CASEY (A Domeyer) raced wide on the bend and made its run on the outside of the course upon entering the straight. c) At the 200m and again at the 100m, CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL (R Fourie) was brushed outwards by MAGIC TATOOO (C Habib) which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey C Habib appeared before the Board and was advised to ensure that he keeps his mounts on a straight course and should only shift ground when he is sufficiently clear in similar circumstances. d) The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine SOUTHERN SKIES (G van Niekerk) which strode awkwardly on at least two occasions in the home straight. e) JET LEGACY (A Arries) raced freely in the early stages. f) CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (NS). g) MONEY HEIST (A Mgudlwa), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (DM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey G van Niekerk was the rider of SOUTHERN SKIES. b) Jockey K de Melo (ACACIA'S BLOSSOM) weighed out at 54.3kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight).
