THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VIRGINIA BEACH (D Schwarz) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) THERE SHE GOES (Wes Marwing) and MANDALAY (*K A Brewer) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, THERE SHE GOES (Wes Marwing) was squeezed out between GLITTERFOX (M Yeni) and VIRGINIA BEACH (D Schwarz), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) In view of the performance of VIRGINIA BEACH (D Schwarz), (distance 8,75 lengths, betting 5/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer A P Peter was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of VIRGINIA BEACH on return to stables. c) Jockey M Yeni reported that GLITTERFOX changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) CLEAN LIVING (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee F Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Spies, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MANDALAY was ridden by Apprentice K A Brewer (declared 13 June 2023 at 10H00), who weighed out at 52,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared.
