THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SILVER HUNT (S Khumalo) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, ORIENTAL ODYSSEY (J P van der Merwe) was brushed out by SILVER HUNT (S Khumalo), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) As the start was effected, VILLA SEMAYA (K Matsunyane) and PERFORM (D Schwarz) came together and bumped on two occasions. Shortly thereafter, Jockey K Matsunyane (VILLA SEMAYA) was unbalanced whilst attempting to regain his left-side rein. c) At approximately the 1400m, SILVER HUNT (S Khumalo) was steadied momentarily in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of MY SOUL MATE (G Lerena), which rolled in. d) CALL TO GLORY (GB) (C Zackey), which raced clear and in advance of the field, compounded in the concluding stages. e) Jockey D Schwarz reported that PERFORM did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) MY SOUL MATE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PERFORM examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) MY SOUL MATE scalp wound both hind.
