Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED A) SOLLER jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. B) MIFID TWO, ALASKAN FATE, DANCING GIRL and VERSAILLES were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) ROSE OF BAYEUX (K Minnie) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer J V Rugg was advised that should this filly behave similarly in future it may be suspended. B) Jockey R Khathi reported that he felt something amiss with SOLLER in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey R Fourie reported that VERSAILLES did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) At approximately the 300m, SOLLER (R Khathi) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of LADY OF THE FLAME (S Khathi) which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey S Khathi signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SOLLER at approximately the 300m mark whilst riding LADY OF THE FLAME. A suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. Suspension dates 29 January 2022 to 04 February 2022. E) Assistant Trainer L Gila on behalf of Trainer K Naidoo will be issued with an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he failed to present MONASHADA correctly equipped when presented in the parade ring. A penalty of a warning was imposed. F) Jockey S Khathi signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking the horse LADY OF THE FLAME more than 12 times in the entire race. A penalty of a R750 fine was imposed. G) The winner ALASKAN FATE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) MIFID TWO raced equipped with a compression mask (11:03 - 24/01/2022). B) SOLLER raced equipped with a tongue tie (15:54 - 26/01/2022). C) IMMACILATE raced equipped with a compression mask, with blinkers and without cheek pieces (09:21 - 27/01/2022). D) WHOLE OF THE MOON Jockey X Ndlovu replaced Jockey S Naidoo (13:56 - 28/01/2022). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER A) IMMACULATE Jockey R Munger carried 0.5 Kg overweight, weighed out at 52.8 Kgs. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) GLITTER IN THE AIR abnormal respiratory noise. B) SOLLER and VERSAILLES examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. C) ROSE OF BAYEUX fatigue. D) SAVANNAH WINTER scalp wound right hind. E) LADY OF THE FAME abnormal respiratory noise (chronic).
