THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	RESPECTABLE MISS (S Khathi) was stubborn loading.
b)	STATE OF MIND (J Gates) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls.
c)	RASBERRY BERET (G Pieterse) jumped inwards leaving the stalls and bumped STATE OF MIND (J Gates). 
d)	OPERA SWING (K Steyn), TRIP TO BARBERTON (D Schwarz) and MAIDEN'S COVE (S Khumalo) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After being bumped inwards leaving the stalls, STATE OF MIND (J Gates) had to be steadied when close to the heels of GET IT DONE (L Mxothwa) shortly after the start. 
b)	Leaving the 1100m TRIP TO BARBERTON (D Schwarz), which over raced in the early stages, had to be steadied and shifted out when close to the heels of SILVIA LOUISE (T Gould).
c)	In view of the performance of RASBERRY BERET (G Pieterse), which raced wide without cover throughout and tired quickly in the straight, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	Trainer SJ Snaith was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he failed to present TRIP TO BARBERTON correctly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer TJ Laing, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer SJ Snaith was fined R250.00.
e)	OPERA SWING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (HK)
