THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS LOLA (M Yeni) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) CONTRA FISCUM (J P van der Merwe) and WHIRLYBIRD (C Habib) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, CONTRA FISCUM (J P van der Merwe) and PRINCESS LOLA (M Yeni), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, came together and bumped. b) MAGIC BANK (*S Sosibo) failed to muster speed on debut and trailed the field throughout. c) In the concluding stages, CONTRA FISCUM (J P van der Merwe), which hung in from the 400m, was steadied momentarily in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of SI VELOCE (*R A Venniker), which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. d) Jockey P Mxoli was dislodged from GOTCHA BUZZ in the pull-up area and was attended to by the course paramedics, which precluded him from weighing in. The Board, acting in terms of Rule 66.2, deemed his weight to be correct. e) DAMOSTAR (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (MS).
