THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	CIRILLO (*R A Venniker) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	MERIDIUS (R Danielson) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c)	GREEK MISS (M Yeni) was slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	As the start was effected, AFRICAN TORRENT (D De Gouveia) was bumped by CIRILLO (*R A Venniker), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
b)	Shortly after the start, GREEK MISS (M Yeni) was carried out by QUEEN OF SHADOWS (S Khumalo), which was brushed out by MERIDIUS (R Danielson), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.	
c)	BABY SHOOZ (C Habib) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
d)	At approximately the 1400m, BEY SUYAY (*S Sosibo) was carried out by GREEK MISS (M Yeni), which over-raced in the early and middle stages. As a result, BEY SUYAY (*S Sosibo) raced wide around the turn.
e)	Approaching the 200m, QUEEN OF SHADOWS (S Khumalo) was steadied and directed outwards and thereafter carried outwards by CALIBRE CREST (*P Mxoli), which shifted out sharply both ways away from the crop on a number of occasions from the 400m.
	Trainer J A Soma was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve this gelding's racing manners.
f)	MERIDIUS (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	BABY SHOOZ was ridden by Jockey C Habib, who weighed out at 54,3kg, 2kg over the carded weight as declared (declared 18 June 2023 at 10H05).	
Jockey D Schwarz was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on the horse BABY SHOOZ, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainers P P / J M Vermeulen which necessitated a change of Rider. Jockey D Schwarz signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed.
b)	AFRICAN TORRENT: Jockey D De Gouveia weighed out at 54,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.

a)	BABY SHOOZ raced with a tongue tie on and no ear muffs (declared 15 June 2023 at 12H08).
