THE STARTER REPORTED A) WILLIAMS LAND was unruly at the start. B) INHERIT THE RAIN was slow into stride. C) SEVEN PATRIOTS was stubborn loading. The starting stall certificate for this gelding is withdrawn. D) CAPTAIN TATTERS and FOREIGN SOURCE were nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SEVEN PATRIOTS (*K Strydom), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 29 January 2022 to 04 February 2022 both days included. SEVEN PATRIOTS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M L Turner was advised. B) The winner SPRING AWAKENING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Stable Employee S M Mqamelo acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) CAPTAIN TATTERS raced equipped with blinkers and without cheek pieces (07:41 - 25/01/2022). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER A) Trainer M L Tuner's attention was drawn to the provisions of Rule 10.5.7 pertaining to SEVEN PATRIOTS not having raced for 120 days or more at the time of entries.
