Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	THE GREEN GALLANT (T Godden) lost 1 length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	At approximately the 100m LET EM GO (D Schwarz) was bumped in by DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni) which shifted in away from the crop. Thereafter in the concluding stages LET EM GO (D Schwarz) was brushed in on two occasions by DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni) which continued to shift in away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board with regard to this incident which was followed by an objection being lodged by Trainer D I Campbell, on behalf of the second placed horse, LET EM GO (D Schwarz) against the winner DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board after giving regard to the evidence presented, the patrol films of the incident, giving due consideration to the contact between these two horses and the finishing distance of 0.05 lengths, was of the opinion that but for the interference LET EM GO (D Schwarz) would have beaten DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni) and therefore upheld the objection and amended the Judge's result. Trainer D I Campbell's deposit was refunded. 
b)	Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with IMAGINABLE in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A Wright was requested to report back on the condition of IMAGINABLE on return to stables (RH).
c)	Trainer D I Campbell appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of LET EM GO (D Schwarz), the winner compared to this gelding's recent performances. Trainer Campbell was unable to provide any suitable explanation. Trainer D Campbell's attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. The future performances of this gelding will be monitored.
d)	DUKE OF AFRICA (M Yeni), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Robinson advised (HM).

 JOCKEY/ EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	PASCHALS NJARO raced without blinkers (advised 21.06.23/07h44).
