THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ASARULUDU (*R A Venniker) reared on one occasion in the stalls. b) GRANDE LUPO (C Habib) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) As the start was effected HIPPOCRATES (S Veale), GIMME GORGEOUS (C Maujean), ASARULUDU (*R A Venniker) and THUNDER MASALA (A Mgudlwa) were tightened for galloping room and carried out by SHIFTING PATH (R Khathi) which jumped out. b) Approaching the 800m SHIFTING PATH (R Khathi) was restrained for a number of strides when racing in close proximity to the heels of HIPPOCRATES (S Veale). c) In view of the performances of GRANDE LUPO (10.35 lengths, 7/1 in the betting) and IMMEASURABLE (5.95 lengths, 15/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) GIAMBATTISTA (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
