THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BARZALONA (A Andrews) jumped slow, losing one length. b) SPEED MACHINE (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BEREAVE (A Domeyer), which was hanging out and proved difficult to keep on a straight course, changed stride awkwardly and faltered leaving the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performance of MUFASA (K de Melo), the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) SILVER FALCON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
