THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DUKE OF ORANGE (JP van der Merwe) and WAZ WOUTER (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Steady rain fell during the running of this race. b) Shortly after the start WIND SOCK (C Maujean) and PASHTUNWALI (M van Rensburg) brushed when awkwardly placed between DROP OF TIME (L Nhlapo) and SETTLE THE DUST (F Herholdt). c) CLAP OF THUNDER (D Schwarz) was hanging in from the 200m. d) At the 100m GRAND DESTINY (M Yeni) had to steady when awkwardly placed between EUPHORIC (J Gates) and GUNSMOKE (M Thackeray), which rolled in. e) In view of the performance of WAZ WOUTER (S Khumalo) (Betting 7/1 ; Distance 9.10 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. f) TRAVEL MASTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (SP) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) Nil RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) WAZ WOUTER - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. Trainer GD Smith will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
