Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, SUPER AGRA (M Yeni) became restless and kicked the back gates, resulting in THE MAURITIAN breaking through the front gates. This gelding was restrained by Jockey K Matsunyane, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and declared fit to race. On resumption of the loading process, SUPER AGRA (M Yeni) kicked the back gates again resulting in THYMETOSHINE breaking through the front gates. This gelding was restrained by Apprentice P Mxoli, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race, and both geldings' were reloaded. b) SUPER AGRA (M Yeni) was stubborn and unruly in the stalls. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer C J Lensley was advised (GT). c) ROCKETS RED GLARE (*M K Katjedi) was slow losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer A G Laird was advised (GT). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ROCKETS RED GLARE (*M K Katjedi) stood losing many lengths. This filly, unable to make up the deficit, trailed the field throughout. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SUPER AGRA, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 28 June 2023 to 4 July 2023. SUPER AGRA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C J Lensley was advised. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ROCKETS RED GLARE, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 28 June 2023 to 4 July 2023. ROCKETS RED GLARE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer A G Laird was advised. d) I AM GIANT (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Crawford, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) THYMETOSHINE was ridden by Apprentice P Mxoli, who weighed out at 54,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared (declared 27 June 2023 at 09H25). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BARNEYS PRIDE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 22 June 2023 at 09H49).
