Race 7: Hollywoodbets DURBAN JULY (Grade 1) (Open to all Horses)

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	BLESS MY STARS (A Mgudlwa) and SILVER DARLING (J P v'd Merwe) lost 1 length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start TIME FLIES (L Mxothwa) and WINCHESTER MANSION (K Matusnyane) came together and bumped.
b)	At approximately the 400m, SAFE PASSAGE (C Soumillon) was crowded for galloping room when awkwardly placed between the outside running rail and POMP AND POWER (B Fayd'Herbe)  which was carried out by RASCALLION (C Orffer) which received pressure from PACAYA (G van Niekerk) which after entering the straight, commenced to make its run towards the outside of the course.
c)	In the concluding stages, WINCHESTER MANSION (K Matsunyane) was bumped out by SEE IT AGAIN (P Strydom) which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. Immediately thereafter these two horses raced in close proximity after they both shifted marginal ground on their own accord.  A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board into this incident. After reviewing the Patrol Film from the various angles, he decided that the result of the race was not affected by these incidents and therefore took no further action.
d)	Jockeys J P v'd Merwe (SILVER DARLING) and B Fayd'Herbe (POMP AND POWER) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e)	In view of the performance of TIME FLIES (L Mxothwa) (35.55 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f)	Trainer J J van Vuuren signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 57.1.1 in that he failed to deliver the passport of PUERTO MANZANO (ARG) at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of this race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2500 was imposed.
g)	WINCHESTER MANSION (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford advised (RvR).
h)	SEE IT AGAIN (P Strydom), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts advised (DD).
i)	BLESS MY STARS (A Mgudlwa), placed third, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (SM).

a)	SAFE PASSAGE raced with a tongue tie (advised 27.06.23/10h03).
b)	Jockey R Danielson was the rider of TRIP OF FORTUNE (advised 01.07.23/07h30).

a)	RAIN IN HOLLAND : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe.

THE MEDICAL OFFICER REPORTED :
a)	Jockey P Strydom was stood down after his riding engagement in Race 7 with dehydration. Rule 25.12 does not apply (Dr S Mohan). He was replaced on his mounts in races 10 and 12.
