Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	CIRCUS LIGHTS (*M K Katjedi) refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer G J Maroun was advised (GT).                
b)	MAJOR PLAYER (C Habib) and TENSTAR (D De Gouveia) were slow losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to CIRCUS LIGHTS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion on a race day. 
Suspension dates: 3 July 2023 to 9 July 2023.  CIRCUS LIGHTS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G J Maroun was advised.	
b)	As the start was effected, VINO DOLCE (C Maujean) was brushed by VIVA DE JANEIRO (G Lerena), which had its hindquarters turned outwards when bumped by MAJOR PLAYER (C Habib), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c)	Leaving the 200m, ARCHIMIDES (D Schwarz), which hung out badly from the 300m, became unbalanced after making contact with GOLDEN PAVILION (M van Rensburg) on two occasions approaching the 150m.
	Trainer P P Labuschagne will be advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve ARCHIMIDES'S racing manners.
d)	PEARL HARBOR (R Danielson) hung in in the concluding stages.
e)	ARCHIMIDES (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
	Trainer F Bronkhorst, acting on behalf of Trainer P P Labuschagne, was advised (MS). 	

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	GOLDEN PAVILION was ridden by Jockey M van Rensburg (declared 2 July 2023 at 12H01).
