THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COLORAMA (M Thackeray) was nervous in the stalls. b) OPEN SECRET (R Fourie), TEARDROP (K Minnie) and MEREDITH GREY (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the thirty-minute interval between races. b) MOONSTRIKE (J Gates) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. c) At the 300m MOONSTRIKE (J Gates) was steadied momentarily when tightened for galloping room between a tiring ERROLS LEGACY (S Khumalo) and NKALANZINZI (D Ashby), which rolled in marginally. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that OPEN SECRET changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the performance of ERROLS LEGACY (S Khumalo), the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) COLORAMA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
