Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PAPER TRAIL (B Fayd'Herbe) over raced in the early stages. b) At the 450m ALINGALONGA (A Andrews) was momentarily inconvenienced when tightened for galloping room between PAPER TRAIL (B Fayd'Herbe) and IZAPHA (G van Niekerk). Thereafter, Jockey Andrews reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. c) At the 250m SUN DAZED (G Cheyne) became momentarily unbalanced when brushed on the hindquarters by SURJAY (C Orffer) which was held up while attempting a narrow run between SUN DAZED (G Cheyne) and HAN SOLO (R Fourie). Thereafter SURJAY (C Orffer) was steadied and directed outwards to obtain clear running approaching the 150m. d) HAN SOLO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
