THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	PICTURE THE MOMENT (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls.
b)	PHANTOMOFTHEFOREST (L Nhlapo) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockey L Nhlapo (PHANTOMOFTHEFOREST) dropped his crop at the 350m.
b)	Approaching the 300m Jockey S Khathi (RUSSIAN EMPIRE) hesitated with his riding when tightened for galloping room between SIBERIAN FOX (G Pieterse) and PICTURE THE MOMENT (R Fourie). Shortly thereafter RUSSIAN EMPIRE (S Khathi) was carried out by PICTURE THE MOMENT (R Fourie), which was directed outwards away from the heels of JOYOUS JUBILEE (AUS) (M Thackeray), which rolled out gradually. Thereafter, leaving the 100m, PICTURE THE MOMENT (R Fourie) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between JOYOUS JUBILEE (AUS) (M Thackeray), which continued to roll out gradually and RUSSIAN EMPIRE (S Khathi), which rolled in. Jockey M Thackeray appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances.
c)	SIBERIAN FOX (G Pieterse) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary 	haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The 	National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt)
d)	PASHTUNWALI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller 	was advised. (LM)
