THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	RUSSIAN WRITER (C F Dicken), MISTER LINCOLN (T Godden), EXPLOSIVE SPEED (K de Melo) and RAFINO (S Moodley) lost 1 length.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Approaching the 800m, EXPLOSIVE SPEED (K de Melo) and PASCHALS NJARO (W Marwing) briefly raced in restricted room on the inside of JURY'S OUT (M Yeni). Jockey M Yeni (JURY'S OUT) appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to allow sufficient room to his inside for other runners in races in future.
b)	At approximately the 300m, KING'S ISLAND (S Veale) which rolled out, had to steady momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of JURY'S OUT (M Yeni).
c)	PETTEIA (R Fourie) hung out from the 100m.
d)	Shortly after the finish, a sectional timing device became dislodged from the saddle cloth of SPACE COWBOY (R Khathi). 
e)	Trainer P B Muscutt signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 10.5.6.1 in that he failed to notify the Chief Stipendiary Steward within 2 days that PETTEIA is a gelding. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R500 was imposed.
f)	SPACE COWBOY (R Khathi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable employee C Storey acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel advised (NS).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	JURY'S OUT raced equipped with cheek pieces (advised 10.07.23/07h29).
