THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GAETANA (S Khathi) jumped slow, losing one length. b) CELTIC VIXEN (C Maujean) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 800m CELTIC VIXEN (C Maujean) raced onto the heels of TELIO (M Yeni) and had to be steadied. b) QUIRK OF FATE (S Khumalo) shifted in away from the crop leaving the 100m and was immediately straightened. c) In view of the performance of FIRE GLOW, which raced awkwardly on the early part of the turn and failed to respond to Jockey L Mxothwa's urgings in the straight, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey S Khathi reported that GAETANA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) LADY CHARTOUCHE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
