THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RIDE ON (S Moodley) lost 1 length. b) QUANDARY (J Gates) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start RIDE ON (S Moodley) was brushed out by DONQUERARI (C Maujean). b) Leaving the 400m IMPOSING (*R A Venniker) was bumped outwards by CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL (A Mgudlwa) which rolled out. c) Apprentice R A Venniker (IMPOSING) accidentally dropped her crop at the 100m. d) Jockey R Fourie reported that MAGIC TATTOO did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of RIDE ON (9.20 lengths, 50/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate QUANDARY against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. g) SHIPHOLIA (C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (NS).
