THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRIP TO STATES (R Danielson) was restless in the stalls. b) LT ALEXANDER (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) MARIACHI MADNESS (J R Syster) was slow losing two lengths. d) MISTER WHISTLE (*K A Brewer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, LT ALEXANDER (M Yeni), which jumped inwards, was unbalanced when bumped by JACK FROST (D Schwarz), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. Simultaneously, MISTER WHISTLE (*K A Brewer) and FLYING DIAMOND (C Zackey) brushed on exiting the stalls. b) MARIACHI MADNESS (J R Syster) failed to muster speed on debut and trailed the field throughout. c) SUPER AWESOME (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MARIACHI MADNESS raced equipped with blinkers (declared 19 July 2023 at 18H18). THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
