THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ISIPHEKEPHEKE (G Wright) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
b)	GRAVITY (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	TRIPPI'S SILK (A Domeyer) jumped inwards.
d)	LUCE VERDE (L Mxothwa) and BATON ROUGE (JP van der Merwe), both of which were slow into stride, bumped leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, KLIP IN DIE BOS (D Ashby) lifted its left front shoe on the way to 	the start, which had to be re-fitted.
b)	SOLOMONS SEAL (P Strydom) was hanging in from the 400m.
c)	GRAVITY (G van Niekerk) was hanging out in the latter stages.
d)	LUCE VERDE (L Mxothwa) and WAR CHARIOT (R Fourie) raced green.
e)	In view of the performance of KLIP IN DIE BOS (D Ashby), which finished tailed off, the Veterinary Surgeon 	was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	Trainer PAW Botha was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate KLIP IN DIE 	BOS against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time 	in the Racing Calendar. Trainer PAW Botha signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00.
g)	Jockey O Noach was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the 	crop) in that he misused his crop by striking GOLDEN GREY more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey O 	Noach signed an admission of guilt and was fined R20 000.00 and suspended for 7 days (Dates: 27/07/2023 	to 02/08/2023, both dates inclusive). In determining penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey O Noach's 	record and the number of strikes. (17)
